Karachi, August 29: Under second phase of China Pakistan Econimic Corrodor (CPEC), 27 new projects will be launched at the end of this year in the fields of agriculture, education, healthcare, water supply, vocational trainings and others. China is standing with Pakistan.
This was stated by Mr. Wang Yu, Consul General of China in Pakistan during a dialogue arranged by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) here at a local hotel. It was attended by Ikram Sehgal, Chairman KCFR, former governor Sindh Lt. Gen. Retd. Moinuddin Haider, Commodore Retd. Sadeed A. Malik, Secretary General KCFR, office bearers and members of Board of Governors, Mr. Thatree Chauvachata, Consul General, Thailand and others.
Chinese Consul General told that Pakistan and China has already signed second phase of CPEC few months back and its new projects will be started soon. China is specially focusing people to people relations with Pakistan. Following this vision, a large number of students from Pakistan are studying in China under Chinese government scholarship program, perhaps more than any other country. Likewise Chinese students are also studying here in Pakistan. Chinese Consulate sends 20 journalists every year to China, where they produce documentaries and run the same here in Pakistan so Pakistanis should know about China, he informed.
We also invite Pakistani artists to China. On other hand, Chinese Consulate invites Chinese doctors here in Pakistan, where they provide free services for patients. Chinese doctors have done over 500 cataract surgeries here in Karachi alone, he further told.
People from every walk of life in Pakistan should promote these bilateral relations and such programs are very beneficial to attain this goal, he emphasized.
About border situation, Mr. Wang Yu assured that China is standing beside Pakistan. Kashmir is a historical issue and should be solved with negotiations.
